If you had told me a year ago that I would be living in a farm house in Montefino, Italy for almost three months while freelancing for three clients and being able to travel, I would never have believed you, yet that is exactly where I am. I wish I had started this blog a bit earlier in my journey so that I could have posts about the preparation, the stress and the excitement but I didn’t and there’s no time like the present.

I am writing this after I’ve already written a few posts that are just waiting to be uploaded and I am scared and excited. I think my About Me explains what I hope this blog will do for me and what you can expect from it so if that’s what you are looking for then make sure to check it out.

Right now this post is going to appear on a half-finished website that I, with a bit of help from Sean will be working on over the next few weeks but hey, it’s a start! I just wanted to get Arms Wide Open going and document this journey. Sometimes what I post will be shit and pointless. Other times it will be a little personal and might make some of you uncomfortable with what I am saying but, I’m also hoping that sometimes I’ll post something really fucking fantastic that I hope is witty, has good insight and might maybe even inspire you to get out of your comfort zone or at least let you know where you can find to get a really great pizza.

I am not striving for perfection with this blog. I am striving to create an online journal that documents this journey. The good and the bad of it. Not every picture I post will be aesthetically pleasing or perfect. Not every post will have perfect grammar or make sense… Some might just be inner ramblings  and who knows they might even have gem in them or might not…  That is not my goal. I repeat, perfection is not my goal.  Down the line, maybe that will be THE goal but, I want to be honest as possible with this blog. Sometimes things will seem perfect (but that’s social media for you) and other time’s you might be a little concerned about me and sometimes I might need your help in pushing me, helping me figure out what to do or where to go because as you learned in my About Me that can be hard for me to do.

I hope to create a balance of “perfection” and “real life” with this blog. I have no idea where this will go or what will happen. Who knows, maybe down the line the theme and purpose completely changes but I hope either way you follow me on this journey. It might not always be exciting but at least you will know it is very real.
